CASE STUDY
A NEW OFFICE
& GARDEN IN
THE HIGH WEALD
1
Ground Works
The site was first prepared according to the specification provided by the Landscape Architect. This included excavating a pond and pouring its footings.
2
Edging and Drainage
A retaining wall was constructed with oak sleepers, a soak-away was installed and drainage fitted. Outflow connections for the pond were laid.
3
Base Layer
A quality hardcore and MOT Type-1 aggregate sub-base was laid and compacted to provide a solid, level foundation. Soil was filled behind the sleepers in preparation for planting.
4
reochip Surface
Our advanced Tar & Chip surface was installed with our hand-applied system; the bitumen matrix first, followed by the 10mm golden stone chippings.
5
Accessible Entrance
To ensure suitable access for everyone a ramp was constructed with a retaining wall, and a non-slip, resin bonded surface applied to a tarmac base. The colour was matched to the reochip surface.
